Cute or Not Cute?

Cute or not cute? I am totally loving this new site I came across - CuteNotCute.com! It's sort of a spin off from hotornot.com but this time the focus is on cute stuff (like stuffed toys, illustrations, jewelries and collectibles), cute people, and cute pets! The UI is uber cute so it really lives up to its name!

And check out this cute banner they have at the site!

I'm waiting on more people to post their cute pics!!! :) If you're interested in cuteness (as the site calls it), please do share your pictures, I have some stuffed toys there myself hehehe

Kristen Bell gets a gig at Heroes and loses Lost, Jason Dohring gets a share of the Moonlight

Kristen Bell gets a gig at Heroes

And I quote
Community.TvGuide.com

"Bell will first appear in October as Elle, "a sexy, mysterious young lady who (Spoiler alert) has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and Claire's future."

AND

"Unreliable sources say Bell's Heroes alter ego has the power to utterly destroy a person with a witty retort."

This is SO Kristen Bell! Witty, sexy, mysterious! Can't wait! I'm not a big Heroes fan but yeah, this is definitely gonna make me really start getting into Heroes pronto (and may I add that it's completely an added bonus that the hot hot Milo Ventimiglia is starring this show -- I'd lose the whole flat, fixed hairdo though -- anyway...)!

Kristen Bell also recently was offered a gig at Lost, another very popular TV series, but she turned it down because she's heading to Broadway!

Oh and here's another hearsay:

"Bell could be replacing Laura Bell Bundy in Legally Blonde this February."

How cool is that?!

I am pretty stoked with Kristen Bell's new contracts, but I am still quite disheartened that Veronica Mars continues to be nowhere in the future TV guides. I do hope that perhaps, Kristen Bell's increase in popularity will somehow enlighten other viewers about Veronica Mars, the wittiest (ever) show, and that we could finally get picked up for a decent close to season 3 and a full season 4!

Here's one avid VM fan who is still not giving up!

Other juicy news! Jason Dohring also lands a new role, which will hopefully jumpstart this hottie's career!

From: Hollywood Reporter

"Dohring will play ancient vampire Josef. He replaces 60-year-old Rade Serbedzija, who played the part in the pilot presentation before the character was reconceptualized as a young, mischievous hedge-fund trader."

I'm already imagining how he's gonna play this role and I must say I am completely thrilled.

So, again, VM must live on through these actors!

Hooray for Ikuta Toma

Reasons why I am so happy for Ikuta Toma right now:

1. His role in Hana Kimi - Nakatsu is perfect for Ikuta Toma. He can show off his sense of humor, his romantic side, and his intense side all in one! It's so cute the way this very cool, athletic guy goes all gawky all of a sudden. He provides a lot of the humor in the show. The way he debates over his feelings for Ashiya is hilarious!

2. The Hana Kimi poll I've made thus far - As of this post, Nakatsu is leading my poll by a whopping 16 votes! If you haven't voted, vote now :D

3. All the overwhelming replies I've gotten in my first Ikuta Toma post. It's great to know there a lot of other avid Ikuta Toma supporters out there!

Here's to hoping that Hana Kimi will be Ikuta Toma's springboard to superstardom!

Below are two Ikuta Toma buddy icons I've made. Enjoy! :)

Ratatouille

Pixar disproved my skepticism about yet another animated film revolving around animals. As soon as I watched the trailer of the uberly cute rat cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I knew I needed to watch this film on the big screen.

The show certainly wowed me with its very detailed graphics. The plot was also very interesting. I love, love, love to cook. To have a rat in the kitchen is certainly taboo in the culinary world, so it was certainly quite a twist to have a rat so gifted in cooking. Finally, to have this movie set in the romantic city that is Paris gave the show a very cozy ambience.

One of the scenes that totally stuck in my head after the movie ended was Ego trying out the delectable-looking Ratatouille that Remy cooked up. It looked deeelicious!

Once I got home, I researched the recipe for Ratatouille and decided to make my own! I have to say this dish is really good! And very simple to make, too! The recipe calls for 7 basic ingredients:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil (the very good stuff)
Tomato, sliced
Zucchini, sliced
Red Onion, sliced
Garlic
Salt and Pepper

The secret is in the quality of the ingredients. The olive oil brings out the flavor in the tomato and zucchini and these two vegetables really are a match made in heaven. Some recipes call for eggplant but since I am not a big fan of eggplant, I decided to omit that.

How to cook this dish? Simple. Place a considerable amount of olive oil on your skillet, and place the garlic and red onion when the oil gets hot. Cook until the onion becomes somewhat translucent and dump in the sliced zucchinis. Place the tomato once the zucchinis are cooked, and season with salt and pepper. I like to place it in a deep dish and bake it for a few minutes or so just to bring more flavor to it but this last step isn't really necessary.

The result of my creation:

Doesn't look like Remy's masterpiece, that's for sure, but I surmise that Remy placed some sort of thickener to his sauce. None the less, the dish is a must try :)
